Continuous efforts have been made in in enhancing the exchanges and cooperation with foreign vocational institutions including the U.S.A, Germany, Switzerland, Australia, Canada, South Korea and Singapore. The school is running the Sino-Switzerland cooperative education program “International Business (Tourism and Business Management) Program” with  University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons (Fachhochschule Graubünden), Switzerland.  

Founded in 1998, Advanced Vocational-Technical School of Shanghai University of Engineering Science is an institution characterized by both higher education and vocational education. Its backbone specialties cover mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, management science and other engineering subjects, which are closely connected with the development of the advanced manufacturing industry and the modern service industry. The school is committed to cultivating the all-round talents who can serve as the high-end technical professionals in the fields of production, service and management.

There are 3 departmentswith 10 specialties and 1 teaching center responsible for all basic subjects in the school, indispensably supported by quite outstanding and competitive faculty resources.Among the 144 full-time teachers, 22.9%of the teachers have senior titles; Teachers with double certificates (academic and vocational) account for 75.6%; 72% of the faculty holds doctor’s degree and master’s degree.There are also 5 municipal-level Advanced-education teaching teams in the school.

  

The school is equipped with a series of hands-on training bases and laboratories including Shanghai CNC Technology Application Public Training Center, Shanghai Mechatronics Public Training Center, Shanghai Mold Design & Manufacturing Training Base, and a university-level Training Center of Commodity Storage and Transportation. The school ranks top among the local institutions of the same level in terms of the equipment and facilities.

The school also aims at deepening institution-enterprise cooperative partnerships. Currently, it has established long-term cooperative relationship with about 300 enterprises including Baosteel Group Corporation, Volkswagen, SAIC Motor, Shanghai Tobacco Group, and General Motors Co., Ltd, etc.
