Amid the crisp autumn air and the scent of osmanthus, the DepartmentofManagement launched the first English Corner of the semester on the afternoon of October 17, 2025, in Library Meeting Room 502. Centered around the theme“Campus Life Masterclass”, the event drew a lively crowd of English enthusiasts from across different grade levels. The space was buzzing with energy, laughter, and lively conversation---adding a fresh spark to campus culture as the new semester began.

Now in its third year, this flagship event from the DepartmentofManagement has been fully refreshed in both theme and format, building on earlier successes. Shifting away from the broader topics of past editions, this year’s“Campus Life Masterclass” is more targeted, engaging, and practical-encouraging students to use English as a tool to reflect on and shape their personal growth during university.
The event kicked off with a fun ice-breaking session led by a foreign teacher, quickly getting everyone comfortable. For the main discussion segment, students broke into small groups to explore relatable topics like“Time Management Secrets”,“Networking like a Pro”, and“From Dorm Life to Dream Careers”. Participants opened up about their own experiences while listening to others---creating a dynamic exchange of ideas, all in English. The event also featured interactive sessions such as scenario role-plays and impromptu speeches, where students practiced real-world skills like handling mock interviews and group projects---truly learning by doing.

One sophomore shared enthusiastically,“This year’s English Corner felt totally different---the topics really hit home. It wasn’t just small talk, but real, meaningful conversation. I didn’t just practice speaking---I picked up practical tips from older students about studying and life on campus.”
This successful gathering sets a positive tone for the English Corner series this semester. Staying true to its vision of being fun, useful, and welcoming, the English Corner will continue to roll out fresh and forward-looking themes. It aims to be a go-to platform for boosting students’English fluency and cross-cultural communication skills---helping every participant gain confidence, find their voice, and grow in a relaxed and inspiring environment.
