On the afternoon of June 18, 2025, a grand ceremony was held at the Hongkou Campus to present Course Diplomma to the graduating class of 2025 from the International Business (Tourism and Business Management) program under the Sino-Swiss Joint Education Program.Asa collaboration betweenour university and the University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons (FHGR) in the field of tourism management,this programwelcomed its eighth cohort of graduates this year.

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Gregor Fritsche, Deputy Consul General of the Swiss Consulate General in Shanghai; Ms. ZHANG Huiying, Deputy Director of the Culture, Education, and Media Section;Prof. LOU Yongqi, President of SUES; Mr. WANG Jiajie, Director of the President’s Office; Ms. WANG Qin, Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office; Mr. WANG Zhenjun, Party Secretary of the Higher Vocational and Technical College;Prof. YAO Hongguang, Dean of the Higher Vocational and Technical College and Director of the Sino-Swiss Joint Program;andProf.XIAO Qian, Vice Deanof the Higher Vocational and Technical College and ViceDirector of the Sino-Swiss Joint Program. Also present wereall graduates of the Class of 2022, representatives of parents, and faculty members from both universities.The ceremony was presided over byMs.XIAO.

In his address, President LOU first welcomed the distinguished guests. He offered two pieces of advice to all graduates: first, always strive for excellence and reject mediocrity in every aspect of life; second, build resilience and adaptability by embracing challenges as opportunities in a rapidly evolving world.



Deputy Consul General Gregor Fritsche also delivered a speech. He noted that out that with this year marking the 75th anniversary of Sino-Swiss diplomatic relations, its a great time for students to build their careers. The combination of Swiss innovative spirit and Chinas dynamic market, he said, offers them unique opportunities.



FHGR Vice President Prof. Armando Schaer and Tourism Dean Prof. Patric Arn extended warm congratulations via video messages. Prof. YAO, representing the college and joint program, reported on the year’s outcomes, commended the partnership’s success, and extended best wishes to the graduates and their parents.


President LOU andMr.Fritsche then awarded certificates to the graduates. They were then followed by Ms. WANG Qin and Mr. WANG Zhenjun, who distributed graduation souvenirs.


Mr. Niall McLauchlan, representing the Swiss faculty, presented the FHGR admission letters to two students from the Class of 2022 who will pursue their bachelor’s degrees in Chur, Switzerland from September, along with a gift of sunflowers to wish them success.



After the ceremony, President LOU andMr.Fritsche visited several training centers of the college.



The successful ceremony was more than just a celebration of the graduates; it was a reflection of the strengthened partnership between the two universities and the broader Sino-Swiss friendship.
