On November 2, the Shanghai Regional Round of the 2024 "CETV·FLTRP Cup" Workplace English Challenge Speech Contest took place at our university. Designed to enhance participants’ English communication and workplace skills, the competition offered a unique platform for young professionals to showcase their linguistic talents and engage in meaningful exchanges. Our students delivered outstanding performances, securing a First Prize and a Third Prize.

Representing our university, Sun Dongxu and Hu Can stood out with their exceptional speeches, winning the First Prize and Third Prize, respectively. Their achievements highlight the caliber and confidence of our vocational college students. Their success was supported by the expert coaching and tireless efforts of their mentors, Peng Zhijie and Ma Xiaohua, alongside the collective dedication of the English faculty.

After the contest, both winners shared their thoughts. Sun Dongxu said:“I’m truly honored to have participated in this competition. It was not only a chance to demonstrate my language skills but also an opportunity to improve my workplace communication and presentation abilities. Watching other contestants, I learned so much and further realized the importance of English in professional settings. I’m deeply grateful to my school and instructors for their encouragement and support, which helped me grow and push my boundaries.”

Hu Can added:“This competition was a chance for me to better understand my own English proficiency and the importance of confident, fluent expression in professional environments. I’m sincerely grateful to my teachers for their support and insights, which helped me stand on stage and deliver my best. This experience has been invaluable, and I’m committed to further improving my skills.”

This event not only tested participants’ language abilities but also challenged their overall professional competencies. We look forward to seeing more of our talented students rise to future challenges and achieve even greater success.
