On May 26th-28th, 2023, the School Teacher Development Center organized teachers to attend ISW (Instructional Skills Workshop) training in Shanghai Normal University. Feng Jing, who is from the Basic Teaching Department of our college, participated in the training as a representative of our college teachers and successfully obtained ISW certification.

It was a true portrayal of the training status of all the participating teachers in these three days to modify PPT until late at night and achieve self-breakthrough every day. Although the intensive training made the teachers feel physically tired, they felt extremely happy and full inside. Feng Jing has always devoted herself to the whole process with a high degree of enthusiasm, carefully prepared lessons and sincerely shared them. In-depth experience of learning different topics, participating in teaching design, three rounds of mini-teaching cycle micro-class drills, collaborative real-time feedback, after-class homework, summary and reflection, teachers not only learned a lot of teaching strategies and skills, but also improved personal teaching level and the ability to give effective feedback and teaching reflection. At the same time, in the interesting and joyful activities carefully designed by the guides every day, such as the origin of names, paper airplanes, making crafts and sending blessings, teachers not only deepened their understanding and thinking of teaching concepts and teaching methods, but also gained precious friendship.

ISW (Instructional Skills Workshop) originated in Canada, with the aim of improving teaching effect and taking BOPPP teaching mode as the carrier. This training repeatedly practiced BOPPP teaching mode through three complete teaching plan writing, microteaching drills and team mutual evaluation to implement “student-centered” classroom teaching.
