On the afternoon of November 10, Cheng Junhong, Chairwoman of the Women's Federation of Liangcheng New Village Street, Hongkou District, and the person in charge of the Association for Science and Technology, Li Chenlu, Director of the Party and Mass Service Center of Liangcheng Community, and others came to our school's Manufacturing Engineering Department. On behalf of the Party Branch of the Party and Mass Service Center of Liangcheng New Village Community, the Street Association for Science and Technology, and the Street New Era Civilization Practice Sub-center, they presented a banner to our School of Manufacturing Engineering. They thanked the school for its strong support and help in the popularization of scientific knowledge and skill entering the community in Liangcheng Street during the past school year. They highly affirmed the work of the faculty and student team in the Manufacturing Engineering Department as "intelligent", "grounded", "practical", and "emotional".
Li Houjia, Secretary and Director of the Party Branch of the Manufacturing Engineering Department, thanked Cheng Junhong and his party for coming to the school and received the banner on behalf of the school. Both sides solemnly held the Party Branch Co-construction - Planning Seminar, committed to better promoting the interaction and connection between the school and the community streets, building a regional party construction pattern of "information exchange and project integration". At the meeting, Secretary Li Houjia introduced the development of the school and the department, thanked the community for its support and help to the school, and hoped that the two sides would take the opportunity of pairing and co-construction, make full use of each other's resource advantages, deeply integrate, innovate the party building model, and create a party building brand. Community leaders also fully affirmed that the school as a quality teaching resource in the community effectively promoted regional development. They hope to improve the mechanism, elevate the organizational co-construction model to a higher level, expand to a wider field, achieve complementary advantages, co-construction and sharing, and promote the formation of a good regional party building situation of creating civilization together, solving difficult problems together, organizing activities together, and promoting services together, and contribute to grassroots governance and high-quality development. Amid the applause of the party members, the two secretaries unanimously affirmed the "school-community co-construction".
In early 2023, the Manufacturing Engineering Department learned about the difficulties in implementing the work of popularizing science and technology knowledge and skills in Liangcheng Street through the work linkage platform of the school and Hongkou District Youth League Committee. Through the contact of the school's Youth League Committee, the party branch of the Manufacturing Engineering Department quickly connected with them. After understanding their needs, the department sent a student skill team led by teachers such as Zhou Libo, Cao Zhihong, and Wang Hao to assist the street in its work. The team fully utilized their professional expertise according to the needs and actual size of the street, created a series of skill courses and activity content, promoted the construction of cooperative projects, and helped the street solve problems. Since the beginning of 2023, the Manufacturing Engineering Department has carried out more than 20 on-site activities in four major series: "Career Experience", "Popular Science Liangcheng", "Science and Technology Festival", and "Summer Life - Skill Practice". The department has won unanimous praise from the street, community schools, and participating students for its active integration, bravery in undertaking heavy responsibilities, humble and ground-level efforts, and overcoming difficulties.
The Manufacturing Engineering Department and Liangcheng Street will use this cooperation as a bond to continuously strengthen their contact, explore co-construction and deepen cooperation between the two party branches, play the role of school-local linkage, and bear more fruitful results in promoting the high-quality development of the regional economy and society. The university will also continue to move forward on the path of "party building leading, science and education integration, skill inheritance, and regional service".
