On April 22-23, the first Shanghai Vocational Skills Competition themed "Skills Create a Better Future" kicked off at Jiading Auto Exhibition Center in Shanghai. The teachers and students of the Department of Manufacturing Engineering actively participated and hosted the Additive Manufacturing competition, achieving good results in Additive Manufacturing and CAD Mechanical Design projects.
The competition is the highest standard, the largest scale, and the most comprehensive vocational skills competition in the city. Gong Zheng, Deputy Secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, participated in the opening ceremony and had a discussion with Chen Juan, the leader of the expert group of the Additive Manufacturing Project (World Competition Selection).
Among the many competitions, students Wang Baihai and Gao Ziwei from the Manufacturing Engineering Department, and teacher Shan Maosong, focused on module operations in the Additive Manufacturing Project (World Competition Selection) and CAD Mechanical Design Project (National Competition Quality). Despite the numerous modules, heavy tasks, and long competition time, they managed to win the first and second places in the Additive Manufacturing competition and the second place in the CAD Mechanical Design project.
The competition set up 109 competition items, each undertaken by different technical support units. The school fully utilized its advantages and ensured the venue and technical support work for the Additive Manufacturing Project (World Competition Selection). The department director, venue manager Li Houjia, party branch secretary Gui Jia, deputy director Zhou Libo were all highly involved in the preparation of the competition, coordinating with relevant departments in the school to ensure successful organization. The deputy dean, Xiao Qian, also paid close attention to the progress of the work and even visited the venue to guide the preparation work.
The competition is beneficial for strengthening the construction of high-skilled talent teams in the new era, promoting high-quality economic development, building a vocational skills competition system, and creating a positive atmosphere for the development of skilled talents.
